Tips for Students from Mexico

Here is a tip for those of you who are now going through the process of receiving students from Mexico.

The Canadian Embassy in Mexico is now encouraging ALL Mexicans to use the authorized Visa Application Centres (VAC’s). For further information in English visit http://www.cicmex.com.mx/en-MX/selfservice or www.cicmex.com.mx (VAC Spanish Verson). There are three VACs in Mexico (one in Mexico city, another in Monterrey and another in Guadalajara) and students can use any of them. The VACs are set up solely to provide application support.

Click here for a pdf of a Power Point presentation (in Spanish) on how to obtain a study permit and also provide the students with more information on using the VAC.

Quality of Living worldwide city rankings – Mercer survey
United Kingdom, London,

According to the Mercer Quality of Living Survey, Canada and US cities are strongly represented at the top of the eco-city ranking, both for this region and globally. Calgary grabs the top spot globally with a score of 145.7, closely followed by Honolulu (score 145.1) in second. Mr Parakatil commented: “Calgary’s top ranking is down to its excellent level of service on waste removal, sewage systems, and water drinkability and availability, coupled with relatively low air pollution.”
